Jose Mourinho wants winning streak continue against Liverpool

Manchester united boss Jose Mourinho has told fans Sunday’s Premier League match against fierce rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford will “not be a visit to the theatre”, and instead invited them to “come and play with us”

Manchester United beat Hull City 2 0 in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday. Goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellainiin the second half of the match gave the home side the advantage going to the replay.

However, Mourinho said everyone must improve against Liverpool.

“It’s a special match for us,” he said.

“If we play enthusiastic football the fans come to the pitch and play with us. When we don’t play with great intensity it is normal that the fans are not so vocal.

“But we have absolutely amazing fans, fans who push us and get behind us.

“Everybody likes big games – players, managers, fans. Everyone loves big matches so let’s go for that one on Sunday.”

United were without  Zlatan Ibrahimovic against Hull due to illness, but Mourinho said the Swede should return on Sunday.

“Zlatan is ill so I think no problem for Sunday,” he said. “I think he will be fine.”

The Gunners are in contract renewal negotiations with the Chilean, whose contract expires in 18 months, but reports has it that other teams are also keen for his services and willing to give him a more lucrative deal.

Sanchez has been one of the stars of this season in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals, but both parties(club and player) have yet to agree on terms.

When questioned about his desire to sign a new contract, Sanchez replied: “I’m focused more on winning football matches – I’m staying concentrated on that.

“It really doesn’t depend on me – if they want to show confidence in me. I’m very happy at the club. I love all the staff. I’m very grateful for everybody here.

“I enjoy the relationship with the fans. I want to achieve more for them. I want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.”

Sanchez is a big player and understand the importance of staying focus as he doesn’t want the negotiation saga to affect his performance on the pitch.

“I’ve told my agent I don’t want to speak about this too much when all the rumours are going around – it can distract a player from their main focus of concentration,” he said.

“I’m playing well and scoring goals. I’m achieving my objectives.

“I’m just focused on playing football, Sunday is a very important match. I’ve got an agent who deals with all of this, so I just want to focus on making the fans happy.

“I’m very relaxed. I’m trying not to let it bother me – that’s not what I want. We’ll see when it’s all resolved – I’m very calm. I’ve told my agent I don’t want to speak about this sort of thing.”

Chinese Football: A Threat To All Clubs…Antonio Conte

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte believes the way chinese clubs lavish huge money on players is a “danger for all teams in the world”.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar, 25, who is very close to a move to Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG in January is expected to receive an estimated £400,000 a week.

Conte said it would be “difficult” to manage a player on such a high salary.

The Chinese clubs spent around £200m before the start of the 2016 season.

The Chinese clubs have signed high profile players for huge sum of money and are willing to lure more players to the chinese league when their transfer window opens.

Brazil Chelsea midfielder was signed by Jiangsu Suning for £25m

Colombia striker Jackson Martinez was signed by Guangzhou Evergrande for £31 from Athletico Madrid

Shakhter Donetsk was paid £38.4m by Jiangsu for the services of brazilian midfielder Alex Teixeira

Shanghai SIPG also paid £46.1m to Zenit st. Petersburg’s for brazil forward Hulk

“The Chinese market is a danger for all teams in the world, not only for Chelsea,” said Conte.

But speaking about the Premier League, he added: “This league is fantastic, a great opportunity [for players], a great honour and we should be very proud we play in this league.”

The Chelsea manager refused to confirm Oscar’s situation, saying: “I don’t know exactly the amount, or the situation. Now we have to wait – when it is the moment you will know.”

The next chinese transfer window opens on 1 january and closes on 28 february.

Liverpool: Simon Mignolet to stay in goal ahead of Lorius Karius for derby

Simon Mignolet will stay in goal for Liverpool against Everton on Monday after he replacing Loris Karius for the win over Middlesbrough.

Karius was dropped after mistakes against Bournemouth and also a home draw with West Ham.

“I don’t want to change each week, that was not the plan,” said Klopp.

“Simon had a really good game against Middlesbrough so he will be in goal for sure. We only made the change because Simon is in brilliant shape.”

Karius, who signed from Mainz for £4.7m last summer, was criticised by lots of pundits – including the Neville brothers(Gary and Phil) following his abysmal performances against Bournemouth and West Ham.

“I know how fantastic Loris is as a goalkeeper,” added Klopp.

“It is a good decision for both the way I see it. Sometimes the job is to take someone out of the public view. Step aside and use the time to get in your best shape.”
